What is reinforcing mesh?

Reinforcing mesh (welded rebar mesh) is a grid of steel wires welded at right angles to distribute loads and control cracking in concrete. Compared with loose bars, mesh panels reduce labour time and provide consistent spacing throughout the slab or wall.

Installation tips

• Support mesh on chairs/spacers to maintain concrete cover
• Lap adjacent sheets as required by the design (commonly one or more squares) and tie with binding wire
• Keep minimum edge distances and avoid walking directly on unsupported mesh
